For Schools, Colleges
and Community projects. We offer a Schools and
College service which can be of benefit to
those who are interested in bringing History
to Life, We portray Roman Civilian and
Military Life and can impart
information with regard to the SOCIETY,
Military structures and equipment used at that
time.
All of the objects used
are quite often based on archeological
findsand museum replicas.
This is particularly true of the weapons and
armor of the Roman Legionary. and Auxilia.
Our Senator who portrays a member of the
aristocratic class, is attired appropriately
with Toga and upper status footwear, and can
discuss aspects of Roman law, Language
tradition, Religion, and custom, he also holds
a degree in Greek and Roman History from U.C.C.
Our typical school or college visit consists
of a demonstration of Imperial Roman Army
Drill; the commands are given in Latin. This
display also includes the swearing of the oath
to the “EMPEROR” again in Latin. All the
soldiers in the Legion
normally gave this oath once a year.
In some circumstances we can also show a Roman
religious ceremony, with offerings to “
Jupiter’ the chief God of Rome,
To the “Local Gods of this place ‘ and to Mars
the God of War. This ceremony we believe was
often performed prior to going into battle.
The Program includes also, a question and
answer session with the students; the
parameters for this session are usually set in
advance in consultation with the staff of the
College or school. We are also available for
many other types of Educational, Historic, or
indeed local events. Should you require any
